3D Print your Next Home – Hello, hello. Hi, it is Mike and Shana Acquisto, real estate brokers and co-owners for Acquisto Real Estate. And it’s great to be sitting next to a luxury real estate broker like yourself. Yes, we did have a good weekend. And now we’re going to talk about 3D printing your home and saw some pretty cool homes this weekend.
Ok, right. And I just wonder how that would work.
I can’t imagine the homes that we saw this weekend that you could just 3D print them and. Get started.
Yeah, well, that’s an option for you. What I’m going to do is share our screen here and see if we can’t kind of walk through it and see what’s going on. It’s a weird topic, like. Really? Yeah. Is that a possibility? Well, let’s find out.
All right, so when I was Kruzan CNBC here, I did come up with this and I found this topic to be quite interesting, you could 3D print your next home suddenly. All of a sudden it just kind of happening. And there’s like this little video that kind of plays with it. So I’m actually going to go ahead and play the video, because when you see it, you’re kind of like, really? Is that for real? Can they do this?
So this is a place down in Austin that they are starting to 3D print these homes. As you’ll see, there’s a little fence around it. And then they have they’re a little bit smaller for sure, but they’re designed to have some different stuff. Right. So Austin, Texas, is where this currently resides. And let’s go ahead and watch the video, because I think that explains it reasonably well. I’ll jump back up here. I do have the link. I’ll see if I can do something with the link for you guys. Oh, we get to watch an ad first. So that’s amazing.
Super exciting for you guys to see. This really allows the kids to get to see this and continue to do so.
Oh, it’s a 20 second ad because it teaches I know will be watching the game, talking about probably printing to something, having social support here and has been amazing about the future.
Well, there you go. So this is a it’s a new concept, right? Hmm. I don’t know how this is going to go. I, I think it’s kind of cool, right? It’s very cool. I always liked technology. So let’s talk about what this seems to me like.
So it it kind of looks like it’s a concrete home that they’re printing in a very specific way. And this concrete’s kind of like going all around. It looks like it’s probably coming in not exactly concrete, like maybe more like a pool, kind of it’s a little bit softer on how it’s coming in. It has a little bit firmer in the consistency in which it’s coming in and it can explain like how it works.
I like how it get designed?
Oh, so I know I know quite a few things and everything, I know, I understand.
So an architect is going to design this and lay it out, right? And then what’s going to happen is you’re going to bring in this big ass machine and then this machine is going to do its thing. And yeah, it’s made by the same company in Japan, big ass fan, the biggest concrete machine company. And then it’s going to just print it. OK, so it looks like it’s gone.
Yeah. No, so it takes less people. That’s one of the key things. So let’s not focus on what I don’t know. Let’s focus on the things that we can control here. There is going to be less people involved because there is a labor shortage. So that’s kind of a thing. Concrete is a sustainable material that lasts for a long time. So it you know, there’s that it should make the process quite a bit faster.
It says so less people and faster and less waste was some of the key things that they were kind of talking about here were the key items that were going into it, right? Yeah. So it’s supposed to be easier, faster, quicker. It’s kind of like all those things that you would want. I don’t know how unique the homes can be. I think there’s some certain constraints when you’re taking a look at it. There’s definitely some constraints on what’s going on with this.
You know, we saw a new concept home, that total environment home that were the green homes of the grass and that I don’t know. That kind of reminded me of that. Yeah. Grass roof.
Ok, so there could be some similarities there and we’ll see how it goes. I mean, I don’t know that it’s going to be like the first thing out of the ground. It’s supposed to be cheaper, like 30 percent cheaper. Maybe we should go to Austin and take a look at some. Yeah, well, we can take this article link and we’ll try to check that in for you guys here and give it to you as soon as we can.
